What if
Wrapt by music, held in swaying tune.
Nothing fades days but La Luna’s moon.
Ra peeks yellow streaks, stilled by The Arms that still.
Vacant cells fading back slow, rumbled rhythm spells fall black.
365 blocks tick off life in such a way as stress can dress.
Precious 12 Tomorrows, tripping footsteps out of breathe.
Deaf yesterdays blaze naïve direction with sullied recollection.
Castles crumble, flickering wicks smolder, crying by the fire.
“Alas I wish I’d raised a noise when oppression hovered o’er!”
Wisdom’s voice foreshadowed brilliance muted by choice!
As if, screaming yesterdays spent, could lie in ruin undertow?
Drowning creation far removed from “some days” overflow.
What if I remain un-swayed, casting boxed in ages o’er the sea?
Lay Triton’s royal slumber with measured worlds yet besieged?
What if I abandon lack of time lifestyles, rushing to and fro?
What if aged crumbles of illness delude Identities purpose?
What if my only limit is the skin suit housing sacred Spirit’s?
What if immortal worlds asleep hold creation power?
I could walk this measure, breathing Shakespeare top full.
Liberate the Slave with Michelangelo’s tools.
See the Mona Lisa color Da Vinci’s eyes.
Feel Bach’s passion compose the Navy skies?
Leave time to hands more capable and stay untimely wrapt.
“What If” placed as an Editors Choice in the International Poetry Contest for Creativity & Originality.

This poem is a semi finalist @ The International Library of Poetry. Yeah hooray yippee! It was difficult to write. I had to trim my 36 line poem down to 24 lines, and still keep the content & plot understandable. Couldn’t just cut 12 lines I had to Thesaurus all day for 8 hours to write this. SO I’m a bit proud to be a semi finalist.
